San Simon Live at the Ferry Slip Perth Amboy

San Simón is a seven piece combo that plays original soul songs with an Afro-Caribbean pulse, borrowing from American and Latin Caribbean music with both old and new influences.  The band has a 5 song EP of originals titled “Talk to Me.” A San Simón show is a fun party where band members push the energy over bopping funk grooves, hypnotic Afro-Cubans rhythms and rowdy Dominican beats. Charismatic front-lady JeSanté is a ‘tiguerasa’ flexing her pro MC skills on the mic, urging the crowd to move all the while belting soulful tunes in both English and Spanish.

Live at the Ferry Slip is presented by Perth Amboy Artworks in partnership with the Historic Perth Amboy Ferry Slip Museum and Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz. Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.

The Perth Amboy Ferry Slip is at 300 Front St. There is limited seating and room for dancing.
