Live at the Ferry Slip Saturday September 10 featuring Segunda Quimbamba

Perth Amboy Artworks presents Live at the Ferry Slip with Segunda Quimbamba Saturday September 10 from 7-9pm. Enjoy great live music and beautiful views of Raritan Bay. The show is free and all ages. Segunda Quimbamba is a dance and drum ensemble that perform Bomba and Plena, the vibrant drum music of Puerto Rico. There is room for dancing and some limited seating available. The Historic Perth Amboy Ferry Slip is at 300 Front St.

Join Perth Amboy Artworks for Live at the Ferry Slip Music Series on Saturday Aug 13th from 7-9pm featuring Erotic Novels and Jekssaira. Enjoy great live music, art and beautiful views of Raritan Bay at the Historic Perth Amboy Ferry Slip 300 Front St Perth Amboy, NJ.  The show is free and all ages.

Erotic Novels play pop punk soul filled rock featuring Shannon Perez from Perth Amboy. A Perth Amboy native and artist since the 90’s, they owned and helped curate events at the now defunct Curmudgeon Records from 1994-2011. A promoter and true punk, they started in the band Don Juan Destroyer out of Perth Amboy in 1997

From Queens, NY  Jekssaira is a Latinx crooner, queer original singer/songwriter influenced by 50’s music. Jekssaira will be playing a new album of original songs in English and Spanish accompanied by a full band.

Artist Gina Minichino has been drawing caricatures for 25 years and will be drawing caricatures at the ferry slip during the show.

A sea shanty is a genre of traditional folk song that was once commonly sung as a work song to accompany rhythmical labor aboard large merchant sailing vessels.  Deivito plays an ocean’s bounty of original Spanglish Sea Shanties including pirate ballads, dirges, sea shanties, and ancient marinated guarachas. A bilingual gumbo derived from traditional folkloric sounds of the North-Central-Carribean-South Americas, the sonic fare exemplifies a vibrant dance of the Old World and New.
